Four Wheels Around - A Road Trip from the UK to South Africa

In February 2009 we are setting off on the trip of a lifetime from Brighton, E-Sussex, UK to South Africa. Furthermore, we are raising money for the British Red Cross along the way. This blog will cover our preparation until we leave and our adventures whilst we are on the road.

A Change of Plan!

01/09/2008

Anyone who has viewed our blog before may realise that we have changed some fundamental things about this trip.... Namely - our route! Our original plan which was to travel across the world to Australia but after some careful consideration we have decided to explore Africa instead!

There are a number of reasons for this change of heart:

  • Neither of us have travelled to Africa before and we both want to see this beautiful continent.

  • The British Red Cross is extremely prevalent throughout Africa. Travelling through Africa we will experience in more depth the work that the British Red Cross does in Africa. We hope to visit British Red Cross bases in different parts of Africa en route and see for ourselves exactly how organisations such as the British Red Cross help this massive continent.

  • Visiting Africa will offer us a far less Western experience than travelling to Australia. Something we are both keen to experience.
